Our April library release features the 1995 vintage– a stand-out year in many ways. Howell Mountain and specifically, La Jota was declared among the best producers in the annual vintage report by Decanter. It was also the year our Winemaker Chris Carpenter began making wine in Napa Valley. And when wine critic Robert Parker, Jr. first tasted our 1995 Howell Cabernet Franc he declared, "I am convinced La Jota is making the finest Cabernet Franc in California. I love this wine."

Planted in 1976 next to our 125-year-old stone winery, the Cabernet Franc vines of our Winery block are regarded as some of the oldest of its variety in all of Napa Valley. Today, almost 30 years later, the 1995 Howell Cabernet Franc truly shines– described as “complete” with a deep, rich red color in the glass and a beautiful balance of fruit, minerality, and botanicals. We are proud to offer a very limited supply of just 5 cases in celebration of our 125th anniversary.
